Coffee cultivation in Papua New Guinea began with seeds imported from Jamaica’s renown Blue Mountain region in 1937. Papua New Guinea coffee is closely related to Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee and shares many of the same attributes. Coffee is mellow and aromatically complex with an apple winey aroma and has naturally lower levels of caffeine. It is medium bodied with moderate acidity and broad flavor. It is one of the world’s finest and a “must taste”.
